Back in town and all geared up for…..The Battle of the Hoods!! Part 1: The History

imagesYRYF3OHE

Hey There!!!!

I’m backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!

“Who the hell is she?!?” you maybe be saying *pouts*

“Oh her again!!”…. “I thought she were long gone!” …. “She retired to a nursing home, never to be seen again!”

A little bird told me that I had a small fan base.

So I would like to take this opportunity thank a Mrs Norma Braithwaite of 34 Penton Place, Norwich and her lovely cat, Horace.

Thanks for all your support and the pictures of Horace in various hilarious poses.

RelaxingCats

((Awww pampered pussies!))

Well I think it’s about time i got off my butt and tried to show my appreciation to Horace and her owner and came back to do….hmm, something to contribute to this blog.

Dust the cobwebs away, wade through the clutter of Kat’s disguarded proto-types, sweep out the overused & broken restraints, Pet has worn out,  and bin all the chocolate wrappers that’s gathered over the last six months or so……err only one or two of those, HONEST!!

So now I have my writing cap back on and slightly tilted to the right, I’m sat here on a wet and windy day, trying to think what to write about.

Have we exhausted the interview line? I’m sure there could be one or two that haven’t done it, that would like too, yes? no?

Should I line up a different set of questions? or tweak the format and re-ask people I have interviewed before?

I mean if you the reader would like any of the above or a suggestion of your own, then please feel free to say so in the comments or IM me on SL.

But firstly, I thought I’d do a bit of documentary!!

So, has you have probably already guessed the theme I’m starting off from reading the title above, let get started!

Introduction

Hoods…….should every bondage enthusiast have one???

Has you can see above, hoods come in all different styles, shapes and sizes.

All vary in functions.

Some to just looking the part but having no scripted function, to some types having every diabolical function somebodies twisted mind could think of!!

Today we are going to take a look inside the history of the hood in the world of SL.

From the early skin layered hoods, the prim attached hoods, the tattoo layered ones, to the mesh hoods of today.

So sit back and relax in your favourite rubber dolly outfit and let’s begin.

……………………………………………………………………………………………….

The Skin Latex Hoods

Early SL hoods came in the form of skin layers, and to be honest they were a bit hit and miss.

The quality of skin showing under the latex wasn’t that great.

They mostly never remotely looked like your own skin that you normally wore, making you look like a totally different person when you slipped on the skin layer.

Snapshot_001

Has you can see by the glum expression above, This girl was not an happy bunny!

So all in all, you always felt a little disappointed with the end result.

……………………………………………………………………………………………….

The Prim Hoods

The first early prim hood was from a maker called Sable Janus. The first fiendish and much dreaded Bane Hood!!

Snapshot_001

Arrrrghhhhh!!! It made many people, even to most tough of us, run screaming for our mothers!

It left subs in tears that their cruel sadistic Mistresses or Masters had put them in such a suit and left them in the barren land of Zhora!

Apart from the totally insane people that actually loved! to wear this suit, for weeks and weeks!

The latex skin that came with it was quite atrocious..

It looked horrible, but that didn’t really matter.

It was the hood it’s self that was the terrifying part.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Then further down the line came the skin hood’s with prim attachments.

Most notable, the Latex Surrender Suit from MB.

MB - Latex Surrender

Ok still flawed with skin latex layer but what made it special were it’s evil attachments.

The blindfold, gag and posture collar made it so much more striking than it’s rivals, and they can be very restrictive too.

You would say a must for the avid aspiring dolly!

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Also around the same time period, the widely used and much loved Latex Doll Hood, from ER.

Snapshot_001

With it’s top notch latex texture and the ability to add a short text label to it’s blank face.

The ability to add a mouth opening and laces on the back.

You could re-colour the texture with 8 colours to choose from.

Various hair attachments and a breast implants to perk the outfit up.

Little wonder that it’s still very much a one of the latex communities favourite hoods back then and still going strong to this day!

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

MD’s effort into the prim attachment field was the Hobble suit.

It had a small hook, placed on the top of your head that activated a pop up menu to a few poses and restrictions.

Snapshot_001

Again the skin under the hood wasn’t that great but seemed a popular hood outfit at the time.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Also from MD came the MD Prisoner Suit.

Snapshot_002

Specially designed for there prison system.

Not a place for the faint hearted!

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Hybridz started to create a lot of wacky and scary latex doll suits.

Snapshot_003

Not something you want to wake up in hospital looking at 😉

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

and finally the Iso Hood from Slick!

Snapshot_004

Also a very popular choice with the latex brigade.

It has a functional menu packed with lots of restrictions.

For the person who can’t resist to be truly locked down.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Finally in this section we come to designer vying for Hybridz spot for the weird ass look.

The Rubber Slave Suit from Creepy’s

Snapshot_003

Looks colourful and vibrant, but one for the extremists among us.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

You were really spoilt for choice in this section of hood.

There are many, many more that I haven’t included here but I would be here till doomsday if I went through them all.

((Sadly the one I have from RF for this section, refused to play ball *frowns*))

……………………………………………………………………………………………….

The Tattoo Layered Skin Hood

The tattooed layered hood is more a refresher for the tired old skin layered hood.

The type were your everyday skin could show under the latex hood.

These types of hood are quite useful for bridging a gap between a catsuit and a prim or mesh hood, so there’s no skin showing around the neck area.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Most noteworthy of the tattoo layer style is hoods from KDC .

Offering quite a good selections of colours and styles.

Has you can see below they offer the more colourful of choices than most places do.

Snapshot_001

For those that may want to stand out among the blacks and reds that most people wear in the latex world, these are the hoods for you.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The hood & catsuit combo from Hugo Designs.

_HD_ Open-Face Hood - BlackPIC

They too have a good selection of colours to choose from, but more the basic colours than you’d get at KDC.

The added fact that you got a catsuit within the package made them a good buy and of course from HD you get a quality latex texture too.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Then there’s the Latex Skins from LTX

Snapshot_001

Quite extreme but the textures and colours are lovely and they sell quite a few added extras to take that dolly look to the max!

……………………………………………………………………………………………….

The Mesh Hoods

The latest in technology brings us the mesh hoods

Similar to the Prim hoods but more shaped for your head, with resize options and more updated look than the prim style.

More detail and better textures than the prim hoods and most have a alpha layer to block any parts of you that would normally stick out.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The most popular of this type of hood is not really strictly a mesh hood.

The KAS HoodCollar came out around the time mesh was just being introduced as the next big thing in SL.

Snapshot_001 (2)

Don’t get me wrong, KAS have built something beyond a prim hood and most definitely belongs in this category.

Within it’s functional hud menu, you have the option to colour each individual part of this hood and the ability to change the style of the face.

Whether it’s to create a grill over the eyes and mouth or to cover over both complete for that ultimate doll look.

One of the cutest features of this hood is it’s ability to change it’s shape to accommodate a Ballgag when it’s locked on.

Making the KAS HoodCollar the stand out hood in everyone’s dolly heaven 😉

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The Delust Hood has a good size to it and seems to fit the head snuggle.

Snapshot_001

It also has the added feature of a gasmask filter option, with various sized filters to swap and change.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Then comes the Latex Hood from DommeLab

Snapshot_001

Far from being the prettiest hood on the market, it seems the perfect hood to push on that victim you have been dying to humiliate for ages 😉

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

The newest hood out is the Moyet Gasmask hood.

HoodMoyet_002

Looks great and easy to fit with a basic menu and a color change HUD to re-color various parts to your liking.

It has a very heavy breathing tone that is a little to masculine sounding for me, but this is just a minor issue.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

And finally, The Xtreme Hood from Sweet Angel Designs which more or less follows the same trend of humiliation that the DommeLab Hood does.

Snapshot_001

There’s a vast array of options here and lots and lots of ways to restrict your chosen dolly till she’s whimpering like a little cry baby brat!

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Like the Prim Hoods, there are lots of Mesh hoods out there for you to choose from.

But choose wisely, they aren’t cheap!

……………………………………………………………………………………………….

In Conclusion

Has you can see there are many, many hoods out there for you to choose from.

From the wonderfully made to the down right whacky!

It’s been a long road from way back in the early days when some young creative kinky designer first decided to make the first hood and people continue to this day to bring you bright and fresh new ideas on how the design can make the next step into the future of a hooded generation.

So from a universally famous hood wearer to every up and coming dolly of desire……..

imagesHG2AS5LM

Don’t underestimate the power of the hood!!
